Hanging with Ketchup

Hanging With Ketchup

Although we have entered Spring, it has been quite a summery feeling week these past few days.
Usually when its this warm out, I update my indie dance/disco playlist and head straight to the beach, as you'll see in this short video. The beach we were at was west of Fort Mason overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, paddle boarders, and a whole bunch of families enjoying the weather as mush as we did. And to top it off, we had 'Make A Stand' playing in the background by Embody....Take me back.

Artists on the Rise: Carmada

Artists on the Rise: Carmada

Yahtzel + LDRU = Carmada. In all seriousness, a lot of talent comes from the vibrant island of Australia, and Carmada is one of many. You would think they were friends since childhood, but it only took a few jokes, some beers, and almost getting kicked out of a hotel room for these two to find out they actually had a lot in common. I talked to 1/2 Carmada member, Yahtzel, before his set this past Friday at Folsom 1015 in San Francisco, and he says it's all been one massive dream that's happened so fast. From hanging out with electric legend Skrillex to partying on a private islands, I'd say they're having the time of their lives. If you want in on this experience, don't worry it's possible. In fact, Carmada has a tour in the land down under coming up soon, so get your tickets now!

Ice Rink by Cashmere Cat & DJ Mustard

Ice Rink by Cashmere Cat & DJ Mustard

Twenty seven year old Norwegian Cashmere Cat, is popular for a lot of certain beats. He's one of those artists that you can pick off by hearing a certain sound without having to peek at the track title. As for DJ Mustard, he's an extremely popular American producer as well, who has worked with Rap artists such as Tyga, 2 Chainz, Wiz Khalifa, and a handful more. All in all there's no doubt how crisp sounding Ice Rink sounds with the Cat and Mustard working side by side.

Let me just say, when it comes to any sort of electronic music, the one thing that gets me is vocal modification. If your not to familiar with what I mean, then you'll need to play Ice Rink right now to hear for yourself.

AM by Polographia

AM by Polographia

When seeing Polographia's newest track 'AM' pop through my Soundcloud stream, immediately I knew it was going to be something nostalgic. These two talented Aussies have yet again made another track leaving us with an imaginative sensation of swimming in one of those infinite pools overlooking palm trees. One thing that stuck out the most throughout this three minute and thirty nine second journey, was the sampled percussion. As soon as you've reached five seconds into the track, I swear it sounds like a candy wrapper being crunched up between someones fingers. And to have that sample lead up to finger snap, is hands down brilliant.

If your missing Summer as much as me, make sure to check out the rest of Polographia's music over the web. Cheers to swimming pools, and Polographia.
